Pearson Homeschool Pin It to WIN IT


To Enter: The Contest sponsored by Pearson Education, Inc. (“Pearson”) begins on Monday June 17, 2013 at 12:01 AM (ET) and ends on Monday July 8, 2013, at 11:59 PM (“Contest Period”). You will be automatically entered into the Contest when you create your Pinterest curriculum board (as specified below) and link it to the “My Pearson Curriculum” contest board found at http://pinterest.com/pin/361554676305434560/ on the Pearson Homeschool Pinterest account: www.pinterest.com/phomeschool. Your curriculum board submission must contain at least four grade level product pins in total taken from the Pearson Homeschool product images found at www.pearsonhomeschool.com. There must be at least one product pin from each of the four disciplines (Math, Science, Reading/Language Arts, and Social Studies).

You must be a member of Pinterest.com to enter, and you must be following Pearson Homeschool’s Pinterest account at http://www.pinterest.com/pHomeschool. If you do not have a Pinterest account, you can sign up for one here: http://pinterest.com. Submissions must conform to the guidelines and instructions as further specified by Pearson. You understand that by submitting an entry you are accepting the terms of these Official Rules and agreeing to be bound by them.

Eligibility: The Contest is available to all homeschooling adults aged 18 and over in the United States. Contest not open to employees of Pearson or any of its affiliate companies or subsidiaries and immediate family members of each are not eligible to enter. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Pearson reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any entry if it concludes that the entrant has tampered with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or has acted in violation of these Official Rules or any applicable state, federal, or local laws or regulations.

Winners Selection: Five (5) winners will be chosen from the submissions into the Contest. The five (5) top submissions that receive the most “likes” from their followers on Pinterest during the Contest Period will win the applicable prize. In the event of a tie, the submission with the most repins by followers will be declared one of the winners.

Prize: There shall be five (5) winners selected from pool of submissions. Each of the five winners will receive a total of four homeschool curriculum bundles, one from each of the four disciplines (Math, Science, Reading/Language Arts, Social Studies) they have selected to create their Pinterest curriculum board. Winners may choose from available product bundles on www.PearsonHomeschool.com. The approximate retail value of the prize is $400. ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL TAXES THAT MAY ACCRUE FROM THE PRIZE ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PRIZE WINNERS. ALL PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED. ALL PRIZES ARE AWARDED “AS IS” AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE). ACCEPTANCE OR USE OF PRIZE IS AT THE WINNER’S OWN RISK.

Winner Notification: Potential winners will be notified through a Pinterest comment on the “My Pearson Homeschool Curriculum” Contest Board on or about July 8, 2013 and must respond promptly via email address provided with their contact information or an alternate potential winner will be selected. The winner notice will include information on how the winners can claim their prize. Failure to comply with any rule, regulation or limitation will result in the forfeiture of the prize, in whole or in part.

For winner’s name, please send a separate self-addressed, stamped envelope to Pearson Education, Inc., The Pinterest Contest, Attn: Pearson Homeschool, 3075 W. Ray Suite 200, Chandler AZ, 85226 by September 1, 2013. Incomplete, or mechanically reproduced entry forms or entry forms that have been tampered with will be disqualified.

General Conditions: The Contest will be governed, construed and interpreted under the laws of the United States. By entering this Contest, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Pearson on all matters relating to the Contest. By entering the Contest, all entrants consent to the use of their names, submissions and any statements they make in connection with the Contest or about Pearson in general without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. Pearson may request, at Pearson’s sole discretion, that the entrant/winner provide any of the foregoing information to Pearson.

Without limiting the foregoing, by entering, all entrants shall be deemed to have granted to Pearson, and its respective successors and assigns, absolutely and forever, the non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, royalty free right and license in and to their submissions, including the right to use, edit, modify and prepare derivative works based upon the submissions, and to display, publish, reproduce, transmit and deliver the submissions in and by any and all media now in existence or hereafter discovered or devised throughout the world in perpetuity. Entrants agree to execute any and all documents requested by the Pearson, including a winner’s affidavit for the winners, to effectuate the Pearson’s rights described in this paragraph. Entrants hereby irrevocably and unconditionally waive any and all moral rights or any rights of similar nature under any law in any jurisdiction in and to any and all elements of the video submissions. Entrants represent and warrant to the Pearson that (i) any submissions submitted are the original creation of entrant, and (ii) the Pearson’s use of such submissions as contemplated in these rules will not violate the rights of any third party.

Limitations of Liability: By entering the Contest, entrants agree to release Pearson Education, Inc. and all co-sponsors of the Contest and their respective affiliates, parents and subsidiaries, and their respective employees, agents, and representatives (collectively, “Sponsor Entities”) from any and all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to person or property that may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of a prize or with participation in this Contest. By entering this Contest, entrants agree that no claim relating to such injuries, damages, or losses shall be asserted against any of the Sponsor Entities. Entrants agree that none of the Sponsor Entities shall be liable for any injury or damage to any person’s computer hardware, software, or peripherals utilized in participating in the Contest. None of the Sponsor Entities are responsible for technical, hardware, software, or other communication failures of any kind, whether caused by any of the Sponsor Entities, users, or by any equipment, programming, or other cause, whether or not such failures limit an entrant’s ability to participate in the Contest. If for any reason (including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause that corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest), the Contest is not capable of being conducted as described in these Official Rules, Pearson shall have the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest.

Pearson reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who has tampered with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, or who has acted in violation of these Official Rules or any applicable state, federal, or local laws or regulations, or is acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person.
